The Church Performing Arts Classes – The Church Academy

TCPA Classes

What are class sessions?

TCPA offers classes over the course of four sessions throughout the year: Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. These weekly classes run for ten consecutive weeks, with the exception of our summer session. A variety of classes are offered in drama, voice, and dance. Specialty classes vary per session. At the end of a TCPA session, everyone is sure to come away with improved skills in the area of emphasis. During the last week of class, a high-energy showcase is presented by each class to demonstrate to other students, family, and friends what they have learned. Classes are held at The Church in Baton Rouge located at 2037 Quail Dr. Baton Rouge, LA 70808.

Who are classes for?

Classes are for ages 8-100 years old. From no experience to a lot of experience; classes will refresh and challenge individuals to continue their growth in the performing arts and/or try something new for His glory. At TCPA we create an uplifting, Christian and encouraging environment for you to learn and grow in the arts, all while bringing glory to God.

Class offerings for this term:

Acting 101, Acting 102, Beginning Voice, Dance 101, Bass, Drums, Guitar, Piano, Technical Arts, Theatrical Lighting, Filmmaking 101, Photography, Graphic Design, and Visual Art Class.

What is showcase?

Friends and family are invited to attend TCPA’s showcase each term! Showcase is the grand finales of each session of classes, at which every class makes a 5-10 minute presentation of something they have learned and rehearsed during the sessions. Don’t miss the action!

I know my experience and time at this school prepared me for college at LSU and gave me an ability to chase after my professional dreams. No matter where the Lord eventually places me and my wife, I will always cherish my time here and remain thankful for the great memories and Christian foundation I received.
